Hosting Programme for Cantabs
Are you a Cantab intending to buy a ticket to a relocated rugby match? Why pay extra for accommodation when you can be hosted in a Christian home?
Expectations of guest:

- Provide own match tickets
- Provide own meals other than breakfast

Application to host a Cantab:
Are you willing to open your home for Cantabs who would like to attend any of the relocated matches?
As if continuous earthquakes are not enough, now thousands of Cantabs have to find accommodation for matches in Dunedin, Nelson, Wellington and Auckland (Eden Park & North Harbour). Wouldn’t it be great if your church could help in a practical way by home hosting Cantabs during the tournament. Engage is facilitating this Cantab Hosting Program by connecting churches with Cantab ticket holders.
Expectations of host:
- Host 2 Cantabs or a family for 3 days around the match date
- Provide a clean and comfortable separate bedroom
- Provide FREE breakfast
- Meet your guest on the airport or at the Welcome Centre in the case of Auckland and Wellington.
- Transport your guest to the nearest public transport hub on match day.
- Enjoy the hosting experience and “make a friend for life”

Engage Family Hosting Programme
Host a rugby player or official’s family member
Family members of the 20 rugby nations from around the world will be coming to New Zealand to support their relative during the tournament.
Due to the expected high cost of accommodation, we are asking NZ Christians who have a love for God and a love for others, to open their homes to the family members of the players and officials.
When: From the 9th September– 25th October 2011
Where: In your town or city where matches will be played.
Why: To show them kiwi hospitality and the love of Christ through
- Providing accommodation which includes a private room and separate bathroom if possible. Max period is 7 days per guest.
- Providing at least breakfast, but more meals if you prefer
- Picking them up from an ENGAGE welcome centre or from the airport, and assisting them to the closest public transport hub each day.
- Social activities when this fits in with their schedule.
